Luzerne, a Singaporean tableware brand, is celebrating Singapore’s 60th anniversary of independence with the SG60 Diamond Collection, a range of handcrafted ceramic plates and cups. The collection, designed by Singaporean artist Ng Woon Lam, features milestones from Singapore’s history and aims to raise $438,000 (S$600,000) for mental health charities through the donation of 60 limited-edition plates.
The SG60 Diamond Collection includes several items: the SG60 Diamond Plate, SG60 Singapura Plate, SG60 Singapura 6-Plate Set, and SG60 Kopi Set. Each design reflects a significant milestone from Singapore’s six decades of progress. The SG60 Diamond Plate, in particular, combines all six designs into a single collage, symbolising the nation’s journey.
Elaine Lek, CEO of Luzerne, emphasised the personal significance of the initiative, stating, “As co-founder of the PleaseStay. Movement, speaking up on youth mental health and suicide prevention has never been a choice – it is a responsibility I carry.” Luzerne plans to distribute the plates among over 20 social service agencies for fundraising, with a special initiative in collaboration with Community Chest Singapore.
The fundraising effort will see 10 plates auctioned online, with minimum donations starting at $1,960 (S$2,688) per plate. The top 10 donors will receive a serialised plate in a premium gift box. Luzerne’s commitment to mental health reflects its broader mission to support societal well-being as Singapore continues to evolve.
