TotalEnergies ENEOS has successfully commissioned two solar rooftop photovoltaic systems for Lee Huat Yap Kee Pte Ltd (LHYK), a prominent marine logistics specialist in Singapore. The systems, with a combined capacity of 12 megawatt-peak (MWp), will supply renewable energy to LHYK’s facilities, significantly advancing their sustainability initiatives. This project highlights both companies’ dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices.
The installation comprises over 2,100 solar modules, generating approximately 1,600 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annually. This output is sufficient to power more than 350 four-room HDB flats in Singapore for a year, whilst also reducing carbon dioxide emissions by around 600 tonnes annually. Under the long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), LHYK incurs no upfront costs, as TotalEnergies ENEOS will fund, install, operate, and maintain the solar systems, allowing LHYK to purchase the electricity produced.
Alexandru Buzatu, Director of TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pacific, stated, “Our partnership with LHYK is a testament to our shared vision of integrating renewable energy into industrial operations. This project not only enhances LHYK’s operational efficiency but also sets a benchmark for sustainability in the marine logistics sector.”
Okano San, Managing Director of LHYK, remarked, “This solar installation represents a significant milestone in our efforts to improve the environmental performance of our operations. The scale of the project installed on our 70-metre-high warehouse reflects our ambition to act decisively on sustainability.”
This collaboration is part of TotalEnergies ENEOS’s broader strategy to develop 2 gigawatts of decentralised solar capacity across Asia over the next five years, reinforcing their commitment to delivering innovative and environmentally responsible energy solutions.
