NHG Health and ST Engineering have embarked on a five-year Master Collaboration Agreement to co-develop engineering and smart systems aimed at improving patient care and optimising health services for 1.5 million residents in Central and North Singapore. This partnership seeks to integrate NHG Health’s clinical expertise with ST Engineering’s engineering capabilities to enhance patient flow, resource utilisation, and overall patient experience.
The collaboration will focus on several transformative initiatives, including the development of a next-generation C3 Command, Control, and Communication centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital by 2030. This centre, in partnership with Synapxe, aims to improve patient flow and resource management across the hospital and the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.
Vincent Chong, Group President and CEO of ST Engineering, highlighted the shared commitment to transforming healthcare through technology, stating, “Together we will be co-developing smart systems that enhance operational efficiency and support better care outcomes.”
The partnership will also explore value-based patient-centred care supported by smart technology. At Woodlands Health, autonomous mobile robots developed by ST Engineering are already operational, delivering food and linen, thereby freeing up 100 man-hours daily for patient care.
Additionally, NHG Health will trial sustainable cooling and smart energy optimisation solutions, including the Airbitat Energy Recovery System, which promises up to 30% energy savings. An Engineering Sandbox will be established to fast-track the development of healthcare solutions, enhancing productivity and optimising resources.
The agreement was signed at the CHI Innovate 2025 event, witnessed by Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung, marking a significant step towards a more resilient and efficient healthcare system in Singapore.
