Get ready, foodies! Korio – the beloved purveyor of scrumptious sandwiches – has officially set up shop in one of our city-state’s most bustling hubs: Bugis. In tandem with Zouk Group, this celebrated eatery brings its unique blend of flavors to life within the sleek confines of Guoco Midtown II, marking a major coup for the local culinary scene.
Since making its debut back in 2020 down south in charming Telok Ayer, Korio has steadily gained traction amongst locals and visitors alike, drawn by its tantalizing take on timeless favorites. And now, co-founders Myron and his sister, Shaz, bring us face-to-face once again with what they’re calling ‘a labor of love.’
Their new outpost promises something different; inspired by the unapologetic energy of America’s Big Apple, each dish offers a chance to re-imagine old-school comfort cuisine through fresh eyes (or rather taste buds!). Their signature creations still hold sway – don’t worry about trading your trusty sidekick, the delectable honey sea salt doughnuts are here to stay – but innovative dishes have also made the cut.
Chief among them? An invigorating brisket sandwich featuring succulent grass-fed cuts cooked low-and-slow just so you can indulge in those rich, meaty notes alongside crunchy veggies; think classic combinations turned inside-out or perhaps upside-down…whimsical details make perfect sense here though when paired well!
In attendance were Andrew Li (Zouk Group) whose warm sentiments reflected why we fall deeply under the spell – there exists harmony where bolder flavors converge seamlessly & become more approachable thanks largely due these guys’ shared enthusiasm (‘this really speaks volumes about how much people care.’) Now isn’t that great?!
While nestled strategically mere strides away from Bugis Station itself makes getting some grub even easier than ordering out; expect crisp bright vibes along w/brightened-up spaces filled airy feel & industrial-chic charm giving everyone plenty reasons come enjoy anytime between morning rush hour till afternoon slump. All told another delightful gem added onto already fantastic neighborhood eats landscape
