Ilmiri Korean Fusion Cuisine, a renowned Korean restaurant chain, is set to transfer its Singapore operations to a new group of local investors on 17 July 2025. The flagship outlet, located at Boat Quay, will continue to operate under the new management, marking a significant step in expanding the brand’s presence in Singapore and the region.
Ilmiri, with over 150 outlets in Korea, is celebrated for its modern take on the traditional Korean jjimdak dish, a sweet, savoury, and occasionally spicy comfort food. The brand has gained popularity through its frequent appearances in hit Korean dramas like *Vincenzo* and *Thirty-Nine*. The Singapore outlet uniquely offers a “greatest hits” menu, featuring popular items from Ilmiri’s sub-brands, such as the Cloud Cheese Jjimdak and Mari Combi.
Michelle Tan, the new director of Ilmiri Singapore, is an experienced entrepreneur venturing into the dining industry. She was drawn to the brand due to its widespread appeal and the growing popularity of Korean culture in Southeast Asia. “When I first tasted Ilmiri’s Jjimdak chicken, I loved it. I thought it was a pity that the brand only had one outlet in Singapore,” Tan said, expressing her enthusiasm for expanding the brand’s footprint.
Cho Kibum, founder and director of Ilmiri Korea, expressed confidence in the new management, stating, “Under Tan’s stewardship, we believe that Ilmiri will be able to flourish so that more Singaporeans will be able to enjoy the flavours of Ilmiri menu.”
The new management plans to introduce additional dishes, including the Yaki-Udon Jjimdak, blending Korean and Japanese culinary elements. This expansion aims to cater to Singapore’s diverse palate, enhancing the dining experience with authentic, culture-driven concepts.
