MSIG, a leading general insurer in Southeast Asia, has announced a significant three-year partnership with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) to enhance the development of local football. This collaboration, one of FAS’s most comprehensive, aims to support youth, elite, and league football across Singapore.
The partnership underscores MSIG’s commitment to nurturing young talent, with a particular focus on the National Age Group Teams. Clemens Philippi, CEO of MSIG Asia, stated, “We share FAS’ ambition to reignite the nation’s passion and pride for football, and to see Singapore teams perform on the international stage once again.” He emphasised the importance of investing in youth to build a sustainable future, highlighting the role of sport in developing resilience, discipline, and teamwork.
MSIG’s involvement extends beyond youth development. The insurer will support the Singapore Men’s National Team as they prepare for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 in Saudi Arabia. This includes branding opportunities and fan engagement initiatives, such as meet-and-greet sessions and football clinics.
FAS General Secretary Badri Ghent expressed gratitude for MSIG’s support, noting that such partnerships are crucial for strengthening development pathways and creating opportunities for players. “We are committed to ensuring that this investment translates into meaningful, long-term progress for Singapore football,” he said.
As Singapore football continues to grow, this partnership aims to foster a vibrant and inclusive football culture, encouraging more organisations to contribute to the sport’s development.
