Pony.ai, a leader in autonomous driving technology, has received regulatory approval to launch invite-only rides in Singapore, the final step before offering public services. This development is part of Pony.ai’s collaboration with ComfortDelGro and is a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy.
The service operates on a 12-kilometre route in northeast Punggol, connecting residents to key amenities such as Oasis Terraces and Punggol Coast MRT station. The route, which takes approximately 55 minutes, is expected to save residents up to 15 minutes compared to current public transport options.
James Peng, founder and CEO of Pony.ai, stated, “Singapore is an important step in Pony.ai’s global commercialisation strategy. Entering by-invite rides with ComfortDelGro moves this project into a more operational phase and brings our autonomous mobility technology closer to real daily commuting scenarios.”
Pony.ai first announced its Singapore deployment in September 2025, following a strategic partnership with ComfortDelGro that began in July 2024. This partnership aligns with Singapore’s efforts to enhance first and last-mile connectivity through innovative transport solutions.
The invite-only phase allows selected participants to experience the service, providing valuable feedback as Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro work with Singapore’s Land Transport Authority to refine operations. This initiative is part of Pony.ai’s dual-engine strategy, which aims to expand its autonomous mobility business across China and international markets.
