Singapore-headquartered Agoda, a leading digital travel platform, has partnered with Tourism Malaysia to enhance Malaysia’s global tourism appeal in preparation for Visit Malaysia 2026. This strategic collaboration, announced on 29 May 2025, will leverage Agoda’s digital capabilities to showcase Malaysia’s diverse attractions to a worldwide audience.
The two-year Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) between Agoda and Tourism Malaysia will see the launch of targeted digital campaigns. These initiatives are designed to provide travellers with comprehensive insights into Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and urban experiences. Agoda will utilise its digital platform and social media channels to highlight Malaysia’s unique offerings, from culinary delights to scenic wonders.
Fabian Teja, Country Director for Malaysia at Agoda, stated, “This partnership underscores Agoda’s dedication to connecting Malaysia with travellers worldwide through our innovative technology and engaging content.” Meanwhile, Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, emphasised the importance of digitalisation in their strategy, saying, “We value our partnership with Agoda to leverage its industry expertise and innovative travel promotion strategies.”
The collaboration aims to support Tourism Malaysia’s goal of attracting 45 million international visitors this year. Both parties are committed to sharing best practices and insights through joint workshops focusing on traveller behaviour and sustainable tourism development.
