Libeara, a tokenisation platform backed by SC Ventures, has announced that global trading firm GSR is leading its latest funding round. This strategic partnership aims to enhance the tokenisation of institutional-grade assets by combining Libeara’s platform with GSR’s liquidity and distribution capabilities. The funding will support Libeara’s expansion in providing compliant on-chain tokenisation infrastructure, enabling financial institutions to issue and trade tokenised assets at scale.
The tokenised asset market, valued at nearly $30b, is projected to reach $30t by 2034. Despite its growth, the market has faced challenges due to the lack of integrated infrastructure and liquidity. Libeara’s recent Capital Markets Services licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore positions it to address these challenges by offering a regulated platform for tokenisation.
CJ Fong, APAC General Manager at GSR, stated, “Tokenisation is no longer a thesis, it’s a market in formation. Our partnership with Libeara is about bringing liquidity infrastructure and institutional connectivity to help tokenised assets scale.”
Libeara’s infrastructure has already supported the tokenisation of over US$1b in assets, including a tokenised U.S. Treasury fund and Asia’s first tokenised retail money market fund. The collaboration with GSR aims to close gaps in origination, market infrastructure, distribution, and liquidity, thereby creating new institutional-grade markets.
Aaron Gwak, Founder and CEO of Libeara, emphasised the importance of compliant infrastructure, stating, “This round gives us the resources to extend that infrastructure to more asset classes, more markets, and more investors.” The partnership is set to transform how traditional financial assets are moved on-chain, enhancing capital efficiency across platforms.
