Zig by ComfortDelGro has launched a new in-app feature, Scan & Ride, designed to simplify ride booking through QR codes at fixed pick-up points. This innovation aims to make the process more accessible, particularly for seniors, carers, and tourists. Users can book rides by scanning QR codes at designated locations, with pick-up points automatically reflected in the app.
The feature, which supports smoother and more reliable pick-ups, is being introduced at three Thye Hua Kwan (THK) Active Ageing Centres. Zig has partnered with Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities to engage active seniors as Scan & Ride ambassadors, providing them with meaningful task-based work opportunities and fostering social value.
Michael Huang, Head of Singapore Point-to-Point Mobility Business, stated, “Zig is committed to thoughtful mobility empowerment, helping people move freely, fairly, and reliably. Scan & Ride makes ride booking and pick-ups more intuitive, so that seniors, carers, tourists, and anyone who values simplicity can enjoy seamless journeys with confidence.”
Scan & Ride will be progressively rolled out across Singapore, including at lifestyle hubs, transit interchanges, and medical centres. The feature also allows for on-board payment and personalised QR codes for frequent destinations, enhancing flexibility for users.
The initiative reflects Zig’s commitment to creating a more inclusive transport ecosystem through technology and community partnerships. Organisations interested in deploying customised QR codes at their premises can now access this feature.
