OMS Group has inaugurated a new Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Singapore, aiming to advance its unmanned marine survey capabilities. Operated by OMS Geometra, the ROC will enable remote supervision of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs), real-time monitoring, and data validation for global projects. This development is part of OMS Group’s strategy to create a scalable, shore-based model for long-range USV operations and full ocean-depth cable route surveys.
The centre, which recently passed an inspection against the International Marine Contractors Association’s IMCA M272 standards, brings together USV pilots, marine survey specialists, and project teams. This setup reduces offshore personnel exposure and enhances coordination between vessel operations and survey delivery. The opening event was attended by over 60 representatives from the technology, telecommunications, and subsea cable sectors.
Ronnie Lim, CEO of OMS Group, stated, “The opening of our Singapore ROC brings these elements together and strengthens our ability to deliver safer, more efficient and more predictable survey operations whilst maintaining the data quality expected of critical subsea infrastructure projects.”
