The Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) and the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance collaboration between the semiconductor sectors of Singapore and the Netherlands. The agreement, signed at the SSIA Summit 2026, aims to create new market opportunities by linking Dutch advanced manufacturers with Singaporean suppliers.
As geopolitical tensions continue to impact global supply chains, the partnership seeks to foster resilient and diversified sourcing. The MOU outlines plans to build an opportunity pipeline, support business and technology partnerships, and facilitate market access for companies in both countries. It also includes initiatives for skills development and the exchange of industry information.
Ang Wee Seng, Executive Director of SSIA, highlighted the importance of trusted partnerships in the semiconductor industry, stating, “The Netherlands has world-leading capabilities in semiconductor equipment and technology, whilst Singapore has deep strengths in precision manufacturing, engineering and supply chain management.”
The collaboration is part of SSIA’s broader strategy to connect Singapore with global semiconductor ecosystems. It follows the Netherlands–Singapore Executive Networking Summit Dinner, which brought together industry leaders and government representatives.
Daan de Cloe, Managing Director of BOM, emphasised Singapore’s role as a gateway to Asia, noting, “Through this partnership with SSIA, we will help Dutch companies identify qualified partners and suppliers in Singapore.”
The agreement will be further developed with a Singapore delegation attending the Dutch Precision Week in November 2026, aiming to strengthen ties and explore new opportunities in the high-tech sector.
