A recent study commissioned by ST0x Group reveals that 76% of institutional investors and wealth managers in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, including Singapore and Hong Kong, expect the tokenised equities market to reach at least $10b in on-chain trading volumes by June 2027. This marks a significant increase from $3.86b in May 2026.
The research highlights that 23% of APAC investors predict the market will grow to between $5b and $10b by next year, whilst 50% anticipate it will reach between $10b and $15b. Furthermore, 13% foresee the market climbing to between $15b and $20b, with another 13% expecting it to surpass $20b.
The broader asset tokenisation market, valued at $1.8t in 2025, is projected to soar to $24.5t by 2033. Among APAC investors, 23% believe the market will be worth around $24.5t by 2033, whilst 35% estimate it will range between $24.5t and $25t. A third predict a valuation between $25t and $26t.
Nick Magliocchetti, Director of S01 Issuer GmbH and ST0x Group, stated, “Tokenisation is no longer a theoretical opportunity for institutional investors – it is becoming an investable market.”
The study also found that more than half of the surveyed investors have traded tokenised equities regularly, with 28% significantly increasing their trading over the past year. The primary benefits cited include continuous market access, instant settlement, and lower transaction fees. As tokenisation continues to evolve, it promises to reshape how investors access global markets.
