Yangzijiang Maritime Development Ltd., listed on the SGX Mainboard, has announced the signing of new vessel sales contracts valued at $308m. This brings the company’s total contracted vessel sales to $805m over the past 10 months. The latest contracts include six medium-range tankers, with delivery scheduled between 2026 and 2028.
The company’s strategy focuses on proactive vessel monetisation, leveraging its ability to acquire maritime assets at favourable prices and unlock value through strategic disposals and capital reinvestment. Yangzijiang Maritime’s extensive newbuild portfolio, announced on 18 September 2026, comprises 98 vessels, including options, which supports its investment and monetisation activities.
Executive Chairman and CEO Ren Yuanlin highlighted the company’s unique approach: “Our proactive asset monetisation strategy creates a virtuous cycle of value realisation via asset sales and capital reinvestment into new vessel orders, enabling us to pursue further growth opportunities and create greater long-term value for shareholders.”
The vessel sales are expected to positively impact the company’s financial performance, subject to completion and delivery schedules. This development underscores Yangzijiang Maritime’s role as a strategic hub in the global maritime industry, bridging shipyards, shipowners, charterers, and capital markets.
As Yangzijiang Maritime continues to capitalise on maritime investment opportunities, the company aims to enhance its earnings visibility and unlock future growth potential through strategic asset ownership and monetisation.
