XtalPi Holdings Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) under the Materials Accelerator for Research Venture and Enterprise Launchpad (MARVEL-AI). This collaboration aims to integrate XtalPi’s artificial intelligence (AI) and laboratory automation capabilities with A*STAR’s expertise in materials science, focusing on accelerating the transition from materials discovery to industrial deployment.
The partnership was unveiled at the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) 2026, where XtalPi joined a select group of companies in signing strategic agreements. MARVEL-AI, led by A*STAR, seeks to address lifecycle challenges in materials such as metal alloys, polymers, ceramics, and composites, facilitating their industrial application in sectors like semiconductors, energy, and advanced chemicals.
Professor Loh Xian Jun, Executive Director of MARVEL-AI, highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between discovery and real-world application, stating, “AI is creating unprecedented opportunities for materials discovery, but discovery alone is not enough.” Dr Peiyu Zhang, Chief Scientific Officer at XtalPi, added, “We look forward to partnering with A*STAR to architect MARVEL-AI into the platform that seamlessly bridges these stages using AI and robotics.”
The collaboration will involve customised laboratory automation, joint research facilities, and strategic talent exchange. By combining computational predictions with experimental feedback, the initiative aims to streamline the development of next-generation materials, reinforcing Singapore’s position as a hub for innovation in AI and materials science.
