Southeast Asia’s FinTech sector experienced a significant boost in funding, reaching $2.3b in the first nine months of 2026, according to Tracxn Technologies Limited’s latest report. This marks a 206% increase from the $748m recorded during the same period in 2025, despite a 44% drop in the number of funding rounds to 42.
The surge was largely driven by four mega-rounds, which accounted for 86% of the total funding. Ant International’s $1.2b Series A round, backed by Alibaba and Ant Group, was the most substantial, representing 52% of the total capital raised. Other notable rounds included CRYPTO’s $400m Series D and Ajaib’s $270 million Series C.
Singapore maintained its position as the leading hub, securing $1.9b, or 83% of the region’s total funding. West Jakarta and Taguig followed, raising $270m and $60m, respectively.
Despite the increase in funding, the number of acquisitions fell to 12, down from 14 in the previous year. However, the value of these deals was significant, with Grab’s $1.5b acquisition of Atome being the largest. The report noted a halt in initial public offerings (IPOs), with none occurring in 2026 compared to one in 2025.
The report highlights the concentration of funding in early-stage investments, which surged 354% to $1.4b, driven by Ant International’s substantial Series A round. Meanwhile, seed funding saw a decline, dropping 46% to $53.3m.
As the FinTech landscape in Southeast Asia continues to evolve, the focus remains on high-value investments and strategic acquisitions, with Singapore leading the charge.
