Dezign Format has announced a significant contract worth S$6.8m for the interior fit-out of serviced flats in Singapore’s Orchard area. This project marks the company’s first venture into luxury hospitality interiors, extending its Commercial and Retail Fit-Out business beyond its established luxury retail and premium timepiece boutiques. The contract value surpasses the segment’s projected revenue for FY2025, which stands at S$4.8m, and is set to be progressively recognised until the project’s completion in February 2027.
The move into luxury hospitality is a strategic expansion for Dezign Format, as highlighted by Executive Chairman and CEO Mike Chong. “This award takes our fit-out business into a new category,” he stated. “A luxury hospitality fit-out of this scale requires the same standard of craftsmanship across a considerably larger footprint, and securing this project reflects the confidence that clients and consultants in the market have in our capabilities.”
In the first half of FY2026, Dezign Format reported a revenue of S$15m, with a gross profit increase of 5.7% to S$6.1m. The company’s gross margin also improved to 40.9% from 34.7% the previous year. Additionally, operating cash flow rose significantly to S$3.7m, boosting cash and cash equivalents to S$7.5m as of 30 June 2026.
The successful delivery of the Orchard project is expected to bolster Dezign Format’s credentials in luxury hospitality, broadening its business base beyond the retail cycle. The company continues to invest in production capabilities and regional expansion, with subsidiaries in Thailand and Vietnam, and a focus on improving efficiency at its Malaysia production facility.
