Taiwan-listed FIC Global Inc (FICG) has announced a strategic partnership with Malaysia-listed Cape EMS Berhad to bolster its manufacturing capabilities in Southeast Asia. This collaboration aims to meet the increasing global demand for artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing, and high-speed optical communications. The partnership was formalised on 16 October 2026, with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and a conditional subscription agreement for Redeemable Convertible Preference Shares (RCPS).
Following the recent opening of FICG’s subsidiary PRO3C’s manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, the company plans to expand its operations from eight to 18 Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines by the end of 2027. Cape EMS will serve as PRO3C’s local strategic partner, providing essential support services, including facilities, material kitting, and warehousing.
Leo Chien, Chairman of FIC Global Inc, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, “The signing of this MOA reflects our confidence in Cape EMS as our local strategic partner in Malaysia.” He emphasised the collaboration’s role in supporting PRO3C’s production ramp-up and strengthening supply chain integration.
Additionally, PRO3C has agreed to subscribe for RM50m in RCPS issued by Cape EMS, pending necessary approvals. This investment aligns with FICG’s long-term strategy to enhance its operations in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.
The partnership is part of FICG’s Johor-Singapore Twinning Strategy, which aims to integrate manufacturing capabilities in Johor with an Innovation and Supply Chain Centre in Singapore, enhancing global delivery capabilities.
