The stock, listed under the Consumer Products & Services sector with the code 0478, opened at RM0.22, marking a 10% premium over its initial public offering price of RM0.20. This debut positions the company’s market capitalisation at RM118.8m.
The company operates through three main business pillars: supplying hospitality amenities to 4-star and 5-star hotels, distributing personal care products and health foods via its M-Plan multi-level marketing network, and formulating health foods for suppliers and brand owners. The listing coincides with Malaysia’s Budget 2027, which allocates RM935m to tourism and culture, potentially boosting demand for NWE Resources’ offerings.
Independent Non-Executive Chairman, Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin, highlighted the favourable timing of the listing, noting that increased disposable income and consumer spending could benefit their personal care and health food sectors. The company reported a revenue of RM10.6 million for the first quarter ending 30 June 2026, with a profit after tax margin of 26.5%.
Group Managing Director, Tan Hong Huat, expressed optimism about the company’s future, citing plans to use IPO proceeds for new product development, expanding R&D, and opening a new sales office in Johor. The company raised RM28.6m from the public issue, with allocations for product development, marketing, and operational expansions.
KAF Investment Bank Berhad, the principal adviser for the IPO, praised NWE Resources’ robust business model and its potential for long-term growth through strategic investments.
