Siemens Mobility has announced the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and several signalling contracts at the Singapore Urban Mobility Week 2026 (SUMW 2026). These agreements aim to bolster rail innovation and sustainable mobility in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.
The first MoU with SBS Transit Ltd. focuses on advancing rail asset lifecycle management and enhancing Singapore’s rail ecosystem. This collaboration will leverage technology transfer, diagnostics, and repair solutions to improve local engineering capabilities and ensure the long-term reliability of rail operations.
A second MoU with SBS Transit Mobility Ltd. seeks to address industry challenges through digitalisation, safety enhancement, and sustainability initiatives. This partnership will facilitate knowledge sharing and innovation development to meet the evolving needs of modern rail operators.
In addition, Siemens has secured contracts from ST Engineering to provide signalling systems for Taoyuan Metro’s Brown Line and Green Line extension projects in Taiwan. These contracts will integrate Siemens’ advanced Signalling X technology with ST Engineering’s local expertise to support safe and efficient rail operations.
Michel Obadia, Managing Director of Siemens Mobility, Asia-Pacific, stated, “Building a thriving rail ecosystem with our partners is essential to delivering the next generation of rail solutions.”
These agreements underscore Siemens’s commitment to transforming mobility across the region, with ongoing projects in Vietnam, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. The partnerships are expected to enhance operational performance and contribute to sustainable, future-ready mobility solutions.
