Aircraft Propeller Service (APS) has successfully completed its inaugural propeller repairs at its newly established maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Malaysia. This marks the first time Collins Aerospace 568F propellers have been overhauled within the Asian region, a significant development for the aviation maintenance landscape.
Previously, airlines had to send these propellers to North America or Europe for a full overhaul. The new facility, located near Kuala Lumpur, offers a local solution, reducing both time and costs for regional operators. Fergus Lopez, Managing Director of APS Asia Pacific, highlighted the importance of this development, stating, “This milestone represents a major step forward for operators in the Asia-Pacific region. By bringing Collins Aerospace 568F propeller repair capabilities directly to Asia, we are enabling airlines to benefit from shorter lead times and greater efficiency.”
The facility is strategically positioned to support the growing turboprop market in Asia. APS is the only MRO in Asia and the Americas licensed by Collins Aerospace to perform proprietary repairs on the 568F propeller system. This exclusive licensing provides operators in the Asia Pacific with access to original equipment manufacturer (OEM)-approved processes.
APS, a global leader in aircraft propeller maintenance, operates facilities in Malaysia, the USA, and Brazil. The company is committed to delivering world-class service and is poised to expand its capabilities further in Malaysia, enhancing its support for key turboprop fleets in the region.
