Bridge Data Centres (BDC) has announced the appointment of Drew Chen as Co-Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 November 2026. Chen will work alongside Eric Fan, the current Co-CEO, to lead the company’s expansion across the Asia Pacific region. This strategic move comes as BDC surpasses one gigawatt of capacity, marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory.
Chen brings over 20 years of experience in private equity, specialising in telecommunications, media, technology, and business services. His previous roles include Senior Partner at Bain Capital and a founding member of its Asia Pacific private equity team. Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA from Harvard University.
Eric Fan expressed enthusiasm about Chen’s appointment, stating, “Drew’s experience and deep domain knowledge of the data centre sector will support our strategy as we scale BDC into a multigigawatt digital infrastructure platform in the coming years.”
Chen highlighted the growth potential in the Asia Pacific data centre sector, driven by increasing cloud adoption and AI workload expansion. “BDC is well positioned to capture this opportunity,” he said, emphasising the company’s engineering capabilities and partnerships with global clients.
Jonathan Zhu, Partner and Chair of China at Bain Capital, praised Chen’s expertise and strategic foresight, noting his pivotal role in BDC’s development. Zhu remarked that Chen and Fan are well equipped to lead BDC through its next growth phase.
Headquartered in Singapore, BDC is among the top three digital infrastructure platforms in Asia Pacific, with operations in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and India. Backed by Bain Capital, BDC aims to expand into a multigigawatt platform in the near future.
