Cohere, a leader in sovereign artificial intelligence (AI) for regulated industries, has unveiled its Defence AI Accelerator in Singapore. This initiative is designed to assist defence organisations and sovereign customers in transitioning AI applications from pilot projects to operational deployment in secure environments. The accelerator will serve as a hub for AI innovation, offering hands-on collaboration and technical expertise to move projects from proof-of-concept to production systems.
The Defence AI Accelerator is part of Cohere’s strategy to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region by 2027 through investments, partnerships, and new offices. The initiative aims to strengthen Cohere’s collaboration with public sector institutions in Singapore and reinforce its position as a platform for organisations prioritising privacy, security, and transparency.
Andrew Chang, Vice President of APAC at Cohere, stated, “The Defence AI Accelerator brings together Cohere’s sovereign AI platform, engineering expertise, and deployment experience to help customers build, test, and scale AI systems that meet the highest standards for security, governance, and operational reliability.”
Participants in the accelerator will have access to Cohere’s North platform, which supports secure AI deployments in sensitive environments. The programme offers flexible deployment options, governance frameworks, and integration support for existing systems. This comes as sovereign AI investment reaches new heights in the region, with 80% of APAC enterprises expected to prioritise AI sovereignty for mission-critical workloads, according to IDC.
Founded in 2019, Cohere operates globally, providing AI solutions that offer maximum security and deployment flexibility.
