Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited (OCBC) has announced a net profit of S$2.04b for the third quarter of 2026, marking a 3% increase year-on-year. This performance contributes to a record nine-month net profit of S$6.24b, a 10% rise compared to the same period last year. The growth was largely driven by strong performances in wealth management, wholesale banking, and insurance sectors.
The bank’s net interest income for Q3 2026 rose by 4% year-on-year to S$2.31b, supported by loan growth and improved yields. However, non-interest income saw a 10% decline, primarily due to weaker investment performance from Great Eastern Holdings (GEH). Despite this, OCBC’s banking operations profit reached a record high, bolstered by disciplined cost and risk management.
OCBC’s asset quality remained robust, with an improved non-performing loan ratio of 0.8% and lower allowances, reflecting prudent risk management. The bank’s capital position remains strong, with a Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) capital adequacy ratio of 15.5% under transitional Basel III reforms.
Looking ahead, OCBC anticipates benefits from higher US interest rates as assets reprice in the coming quarters. The bank’s wealth management franchise continues to show strength, with assets under management growing to S$358b. As OCBC navigates the evolving financial landscape, it remains well-positioned to support ongoing business growth.
