Grab profits climb in Q3 2026 despite economic headwinds

Grab Holdings Limited has announced a significant financial milestone, reporting its third-quarter 2026 earnings with all three core business verticals achieving Adjusted EBITDA profitability for the first time. The company recorded a 27% year-on-year revenue increase to US$1.112b, alongside a profit for the period of US$18m. Adjusted EBITDA surged by 73% to a record US$237m.

The company also reported a near doubling of its Adjusted Free Cash Flow to US$533m over the past twelve months. In light of these results, Grab has raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to between US$4.15b and US$4.20b, with Adjusted EBITDA expected to reach between US$790m and US$800m.

Anthony Tan, Grab’s CEO and Co-Founder, highlighted the company’s resilience despite elevated fuel prices and regional macroeconomic headwinds. “More users are transacting on Grab than ever,” Tan stated, noting the company’s scale and network efficiencies that make services more affordable and improve earnings for driver- and merchant-partners.

The company also repurchased US$400m of shares in September and October, with US$500m remaining under its programme. This move is part of a strategy to enhance shareholder value and reduce share count.

Peter Oey, Grab’s CFO, emphasised the company’s ongoing profitable growth, noting a 297% increase in operating profit to US$108m. He attributed this to revenue growth across core segments, despite increased costs and impairment losses.

Grab’s robust performance underscores its strategic focus on leveraging AI-powered tools and expanding its cross-platform strategy to capture growth opportunities in Southeast Asia, one of the fastest-growing regions globally.
