Kaimirra, a Malaysian jewellery brand renowned for its use of ammolite and meteorite, has expanded its presence in Kuala Lumpur with the opening of a boutique at Pavilion Damansara Heights and a kiosk at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. These new locations offer customers the opportunity to explore and purchase unique jewellery crafted from rare natural materials.
The boutique at Pavilion Damansara Heights celebrated its grand opening on 9 October with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a traditional lion dance. The kiosk, located in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur’s main shopping district, aims to attract a wider audience to Kaimirra’s distinctive offerings.
Founded in 2021 by Nelson Foo and Joshua Tan, Kaimirra was born out of a fascination with extraordinary natural materials. “Ammolite and meteorite are older than anything else you will ever wear, and no two stones are alike,” said Foo. The brand sources its ammolite from southwestern Alberta, Canada, where the gemstone is mined from fossilised ammonite shells, remnants of marine creatures that perished 66 million years ago.
Kaimirra’s meteorite collection includes materials like Muonionalusta from Sweden and Sericho pallasite from Kenya, each offering unique textures and patterns. “Watching ammolite shift colour under the lights is what wins people over,” added Tan, highlighting the allure of these rare stones.
The new boutique features museum-style displays and a mini gallery, allowing customers to appreciate the materials’ unique qualities. Both locations combine contemporary design with educational insights, helping customers select pieces that resonate with their personal style.
