Parkway East Hospital (PEH) has launched the Parkway East Live Well Centre (PELWC) to promote healthy ageing and preventative care. The centre, unveiled on 20 October, includes the Elder Care Clinic and Parkway East Sleep Laboratory, offering specialist services in ageing, sleep health, nutrition, mobility, and mental wellbeing.
The initiative responds to the increasing health consciousness among Singaporeans, as highlighted by the National Population Health Survey, which shows a rise in physical activity and health screenings since 2022. The PELWC aims to provide holistic support and timely interventions to improve quality of life.
Edwin Tong, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Elder Care Clinic, PEH’s first geriatric clinic, offers personalised care for older adults, focusing on maintaining independence and mobility. The Parkway East Sleep Laboratory addresses the growing concern over sleep health, particularly as Singapore ranks low in global sleep satisfaction surveys.
PEH reports a significant rise in sleep-related diagnoses, with female patients now making up 37% of cases, up from 30% in 2025. The Sleep Laboratory provides a comfortable setting for assessing sleep conditions, reflecting the increasing demand for such services.
Ivan Khor, CEO of PEH, stated, “Parkway East Hospital has been caring for patients and families in the East for more than 80 years. As their needs and expectations evolve, we continue to grow with them and support them through different stages of life.”
The PELWC is part of PEH’s broader strategy to integrate clinical and allied health expertise, ensuring patients have access to comprehensive care.
