Singapore investors are increasingly seeking professional advice and alternative investments, according to Avaloq’s Wealth Management Insights 2026 report. The study, which surveyed 4,256 investors and 480 wealth professionals across 21 markets, reveals that 72% of Singapore investors have an assigned adviser, yet 39% of those without one express interest in obtaining advisory services.
The report highlights a shift in investment interests, with 46% of Singapore investors holding private market assets and 35% investing in cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. However, a lack of knowledge remains a barrier, with 50% and 45% of non-investors citing this for private markets and crypto, respectively. Traditional banks and wealth managers have an opportunity to bridge this gap, as 67% of investors without private market holdings and 52% without crypto would consider investing if offered by their financial institutions.
Service expectations are high, with 32% of investors communicating with their advisers weekly and 82% expecting responses within a day. Each adviser in Singapore manages an average of 64 clients, underscoring the need for increased capacity. Technology, particularly automation and AI, is seen as a solution to alleviate administrative burdens and enhance client relationships. Notably, 90% of wealth professionals anticipate AI becoming integral to their work within two years.
Vibhooti Chaturvedi, Avaloq’s Managing Director for Asia Pacific, stated, “Singapore investors want access to a broader range of investments, responsive service and professional advice when they need it.” The findings coincide with Avaloq’s partnership with DBS to enhance adviser capabilities as DBS expands its wealth business.
